Sonicare introduced the first sonic toothbrush in the late 1980s and has since become one of the best selling premium rechargeable toothbrush brands with over 17 million users worldwide.
Sonicare's patented sonic technology sets it apart from other toothbrushes. Combined with their unique anatomically shaped brush heads this results in a dynamic cleaning action that you can feel makes a difference. Clinical studies show that Sonicare toothbrushes remove significantly more plaque than a manual toothbrush and reduce gingivitis, gum recession and improve overall gum health.
In NZ the Advance series toothbrushes were very popular in the 1990s. Philips bought Sonicare in 2000 and many ToothShop customers bought the Elite series brushes in the mid 2000s. Philips left the Australasian market for a few years but in 2011 came back with their FlexCare+ and Sonicare For Kids toothbrushes and have had the DiamondClean and Airfloss since 2012. They really do make great toothbrushes and we're glad to have them back.
